ACCURATE FROM 11 DECEMBER 2020
About
AdviserLogic Home includes a dozen widgets that display data pertaining to tasks and workflows. The “All Assigned Tasks” widget acts as the foundation widget which shows the master data, important actions and reflections of tasks and workflows. All the other widgets are a filtered version of “All Assigned Tasks”
From 11 December 2020, we consolidate all standard widgets to a single widget simply known as the “Tasks” widget. The “Tasks” widget will significantly improve data loading time and reduce the dependency on other versions of Tasks widget, thereby increasing Adviser Home loading performance substantially. Please note that custom-defined task widgets will not be affected by this enhancement.
Overview
This recent development is based on the idea that instead of creating different widgets for a filter, you can create filters in the new widget and can view any data using the filter view. This widget will be by default available under your Adviser Home.
The widget is presented in two views:
View in Minimized Mode
View in Maximized Mode
The widget is based upon 5 parameters:
- Columns
- Status (In Progress, Dormant, Abandoned, Complete)
- Settings
- Filters
- Action Button
Columns: The widget will by default appear with the highlighted columns in the minimized mode. Only 5 columns will appear in the default minimized mode. Furthermore, the widget will only pull the client data in the default view and not the “Related To” field of the task.
Once the widget is maximized, you can view two additional columns (i.e. a total of 7 columns can be seen in the maximized mode)
Note: Except the Task Name and Client Columns, you have the liberty to customize the columns as per your requirements using the Settings button. Please be reminded that you can only have 5 columns in the minimized mode and 7 columns in the maximized mode at a time in the widget.
Status: You can have four status in a task (In Progress, Dormant, Abandoned and Complete). The widget, by default, will fetch the details of all the In Progress tasks.
You can change the Task status from In Progress (Default) to Dormant, Abandoned and Complete using this status bar and the results will appear in the widget.
Once you change the status from the Widget - let’s say from In Progress (default) to Dormant - the system will automatically update the status of the Task under the client's record.
Note: The tasks status can be moved to and fro (In Progress to Dormant, Complete and vice versa) to all the 4 statuses. However, the data appearing in the widget will appear for only In Progress and Dormant Tasks. Once the task’s final status is marked Complete or Abandoned, the widget will not fetch data for these two statuses.
Settings: The Settings icon of the widget can be located on the top right corner. The settings icon, by default, will show all the overdue tasks.
You can choose to include the Dormant Tasks as well in the widget results. Click on “Show Dormant Tasks” option. The widget will now fetch data for both these options. The result would appear like this.
As mentioned above, the columns that appear in the widget are based on the parameters selected in the Settings option (except the Task Name and Client)
Based on the parameters selected above in the Settings options; the columns will appear in the widget as shown below:
Note: As mentioned above, the widget in minimized mode can accommodate only 5 columns. The Task Name and Client are 2 mandatory fields. Hence the “Task Type” parameter in the above Settings is greyed out (since Due Date, Assignee & Assigner forms the rest 3 columns). Therefore, it will have a separate dropdown in the minimized version of the widget (as per the screenshot above). Once the widget is maximized, you can view the “Task Type” parameter as a column.
You can also see a “Start Date” (non-customizable) column appearing in the widget in the maximized mode. You can sort your results (ascending or descending using this filter).
You can play around with some more customization with the widget. The point we wish to make sure you understood is that you can have only 5 (or less) columns in the minimized mode and 7 in the maximized mode. Refer to more examples of the customization that can be achieved using the Settings option:
Minimized Mode
Maximized Mode

Filters: Based upon the customization you select from the Settings Options; you can apply filters on the custom columns to see the results as per your requirements.

Note: The “Search” functionality can be applied for filter columns as well as for entire details appearing in the widget (and not just limited to filter columns).
Action Button: At the extreme corner of the widget, you will see 3 vertical dots.
Once you click on the vertical dots, you would see two options – “Add Note” and “Send Email to Assignee”.
Enter Notes and the time spent on a task from here and the system will save the same Note under the Task in the client's record as well.
You can also send an email to the assignee of the task from the widget using this option and a notification will pop-up.
