Income and Growth Report

                                                                                                                                                                      Income and Growth Report

The report is used to analyze the Income (Distributions, Dividend, Interest) and the Growth
(in overall value) with deposits and withdrawals in between start date and end date.

Based on the start date and end date, the report has been categorized in five (5) major sections.

The further sub-categories are based on return calculation which can be:
Absolute: Absolute return is the return that an asset achieves over a certain period. This
majorly looks at the appreciation or depreciation, expressed as a percentage, that an asset
such as a stock or a mutual fund achieves over a given period.
Annualized: An annualized total return is the geometric average amount of money earned
by an investment each year over a given time period. It is calculated as a geometric
average to show what an investor would earn over a period if the annual return was
compounded.
XIRR: This is generally used for calculating the internal rate of return or annualized yield for
cash flows occurring at irregular intervals.

All the above can be handled in “column selection” option in our scope of revisiting Investment
Report.

Cash ETF - Exchange Traded Fund Units Fully Paid
Units at the start: Number of units at the start date of the particular asset (Number)
Price at the start: Unit Price of the asset on start date (Dollar)

Value at the start: Total Value of the asset at the start date (Dollar). This is calculated by
multiplying the No. of units of an asset with the unit price of the asset.
Eg: A client holds 10 units of an asset whose unit price is $10
therefore value of asset for this client = $(10x10) = $100

Actual RoR: Growth in value without taking Time Value of Money
Eg: Total value of income and growth = $150
Value at start date = $120
Thus Actual RoR = (150/120) x100 = 12.5%

Annualized RoR: Year on year growth of asset calculated using CAGR.
The CAGR formula = (End Value/Start Value) ^(1/Years)-1,
where End Value / Start Value = 1 + Growth Rate and n=1/Years or n=365/Days

XIRR RoR: Time-weighted average growth of the assets in percentage where time value of
money is also taken into consideration.
