How to set up custom Task Types

When you create a task, you can add a Task Type to it. We provide some commonly used types, such as High Priority, Medium Priority or Client Facing. However, you can add your own by following the steps below.

Step One

Open the Task dialog. You can do this by clicking the Quick Task button in the toolbar on the left-hand side of the screen.

Alternatively, you can open up a client and go to Tasks → Add Task under that client's tab.

Step Two

In the Task Type drop-down, click <Add new>.  Note that this feature is available to your practice champion.

Type in the name of your new Task Type.

Click Save.

Now your new Task has the new Task Type!

You can create another Task Type by repeating everything after Step Two. This also works when you open an existing task and alter the Task Type in that dialog.
