AdviserLogic and Mailchimp Integration

What's Mailchimp?

MailChimp is the world’s largest marketing automation platform. It helps millions of customers find their audience, engage their customers and build their brand.

You can create email campaigns that suit your message best to sell your products, share some big news, etc.

You can now link your MailChimp account with your AdviserLogic account and sync your AdviserLogic email system with your MailChimp account to send such emails.

Note: If you have an existing Mailchimp account with an existing List / Audience, you will need to be on the paid 'Essentials' plan, at least, for the integration to work. Free accounts only allow one List or Audience, and the integration will need to be able to create more.

To integrate AdviserLogic and MailChimp, you will have to follow the below steps:

Step 1: If you have your MailChimp account created, then please login to your account with your username & password.

Step 2: Once you have logged in to your MailChimp account, you would see your name at the top-right corner. Click the same & open ‘Account’ details.

Step 3: A new window will appear. You have to select Extras > API Keys. Select ‘Create a Key’ & save it for future use.

Step 4: Next, log in to your AdviserLogic account, and go to Datafeeds > Datafeed Codes.

Step 5: Click on ‘Add’ , and use the dropdown in the Account Provider Mapping screen to select MailChimp. Enter your username, API key & tick ‘Sync to MailChimp’ box, then click ‘Save’.

Step 6: Next, go to Email section and select Group Management.

Step 7: Under Group Management, you can create a new group for Mailchimp. Select clients from the left side by ticking the box next to their name, or use the Filter Client options to filter the list and then tick the box in the blue heading row to select all the clients that are displayed.

The selected clients will move to right side.

Once you have everyone you want on the right side, click on 'Save as Group', and you will be asked to supply a name for this Group. 

Click on ‘Ok’ to complete the creation of the group.

Finally, select this group in the dropdown on the upper right of the screen, and the 'Sync To Mailchimp' button will appear. Click this and the group will be set up as an Audience in your Mailchimp account.

The Groups will not auto-update, so you will need to come in here and ensure that they are up to date periodically.

Each time you do, remember to click 'Sync to MailChimp' to ensure the changes are passed through to Mailchimp.

Step 8: Now, return to MailChimp account & click on List or Audiences.

 

The group will appear as a List or Audience now, and include all the clients and their email addresses from your Email Group.

 

 

Points to Note: 

Note-1: If an email group contains a large number of client’s emails, it will take some time to sync with MailChimp. A message confirming the successful completion of the synchronisation process will appear under the Mailchimp button - please be patient. It may take several minutes for larger lists.

Note-2: If an Adviser sends a campaign to the email group which was added from the AdviserLogic email section, the history can be viewed under AdviserLogic> Email> History. File Notes will be recorded in the client record for each email sent from Mailchimp using the sync'd List / Audience.

Note-3: Mailchimp will only identify unique email address. Thus, if the same email address is there in two different client records, only one will be identified in Mailchimp. We recomment auditing your client data to ensure that the right email addresses are in the right client records.
